Many people consider living in South Congress Texas to be one of the most desirable areas because of its proximity to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

South Congress Avenue, known among locals as SoCo, is a lovely area in Austin, Texas. South Congress Avenue is located slightly south of downtown Austin, past the Congress Avenue bridge and across Lady Bird Lake.

SoCo offers some of the best boutiques, consignment shops, food, and culture in the Austin area. Don't take my word for it, explore SoCo for a day and you will know what I am talking about.

Why would you select Soco as your home? The main reason is that you don't need a car because everything is within walking distance. You can walk or scooter to restaurants, coffee shops, and even downtown.

Dining:

Begin at Jo's Coffee with an iced turbo coffee, a milky coffee drink with hazelnut, chocolate, and sweetened with condensed milk. For lunch, you can enjoy Hopdoddy, which serves up some of the city's best burgers, parmesan truffle fries, and a salted caramel shake. If you have a sweet tooth, visit Big Top Sweets Shop which is known for its candy. For dinner, visit Home Slice Pizza, which serves massive cheesy pies worth standing in line for.

Nightlife:

If you're searching for a drink, Hotel San José serves a fantastic michelada and frequently has live music on its patio. You might also enjoy a live performance in the Oak Garden at Güero's Taco Bar Wednesday through Sunday evenings while sipping a refreshing margarita. The Continental Club, Continental Gallery upstairs, and C-Heart Boy's & Soul are all owned by the same people, yet their vibes are different. Bluegrass, Americana, blues, funk, and everything in between may be found here. Ego's is another great spot with a basement dive bar boasting Utz's cheeseballs, a pool table, and nightly karaoke.

Shopping:

Stop by Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds for all of your costume needs and desires. Now's your time to channel your inner Elvis Presley or Cher. Parts & Labour has a well-curated collection of locally made art, clothes, and jewelry if you're looking for something more wearable. Monkey See, Monkey Do is a kitschy business containing everything from the wild and zany to the downright strange. Tesoros is a bit more exotic, with lovely gifts, jewelry, and clothing from all over the world.

Cost of Living in South Congress Texas

How much would live in SoCo cost you? It all depends on the type of home you're searching for; condos start in the $400s, while single-family homes can cost well over a million dollars. Different sorts of homes can be found, including extraordinary rustic homes, craftsman homes, historic homes, and even homes that have been renovated and modernized, which is exceptionally cool. What makes this neighborhood unique is that there isn't just one style of cookie-cutter home; there is something for everyone.

Many people consider SoCo to be one of the most desirable areas to live in because of its proximity to shopping, dining, and entertainment. If these attractions aren't enough, the Downtown Hike and Bike Trail is also close by.
